Hi, My name is Andy Blair and I have been tattooing now for 17 years, when people ask what is your preferred style of tattooing I will always give the reply “When I am doing a full colour piece I love colour but when I am doing Black and Grey or a portrait I love that” which tells me that as long as I am tattooing that’s all that matters. I could tell you now who influenced me and who I look up to, but this section about me would go on for pages, instead I will say that if you where to look in most tattoo magazines you will see lots of really talented artist’s in them and that’s what I look for. 4 years ago I had the great pleasure of being introduced to Mr Bill Adams of Skin Flix Tattooz USA. I think you can see where this is going, Bill and I and all the guys over there have become great friends and I work over there at least once a year. When Terry, Jackie, Mandy and I decided to open our own studio we thought long and hard about a name, in the end it was obvious, and that is how we became Skin Flix Tattooz UK. Hi guys my name is Terry and Ive been asked to write a few words about myself. I find this totally embarrassing but will give it a go. Like most tattooists my passion started when I was quite young, it started first with doodles on paper but progressed quite rapidly onto the skin aided by the well thought out Christmas present from the folks of 24 felt tipped pens Luckily for them they weren’t permant markers. After this my artistic talents where well and truly confined to paper oh and the odd house wall but that’s a different story and one my arse remembers well. After this it was just a matter of time with uncles, father and grandfather all tattooed that I would naturally follow in there footsteps much to the disappointment of my mother I can still hear her words now” you’ll regret it”, well that’s what she would have said if given the chance but at the ripe old age of sixteen and being all mature and all that stuff off I went (in secret) and had my first tattoo. Oh and how right she was luckily the art of covering old tats has come a long way and no signs of the old work remains. Here I am supposed to write all deep about the people that have influenced me. Well this should be easy as for me there has been only one artist that has had any influence on me and my career and that is Andy Blair. Andy started of as my custom artist covering all the old rubbish I had required over the years. He is responsible for the majority of the work I know have and will be for the work to come. We became firm friends over a short period of time and with a small amount of harassment and ear bending, about a years worth finally gave in and agreed to train me. That as they say is history, today we are best mates who own and work at our studio in Maidstone along with our better half’s. Cheers bro.
